As the Chair of the Membership Development Committee, I am always seeking new ideas as to how we can engage our members. Morgan Connacher told me about a simple, but very effective initiative that ISES San Diego put into action at their last educational meeting. When guests checked in at the registration desk they were told that they had to find a board member in order to earn their drink ticket. The price of receiving said drink ticket was that each guest had to share with that board member what exactly they wanted to get our of their ISES membership in 2015-2016. This is a great way to survey your members and easy to execute.
How can your chapter use this idea to get feedback from your members? What topics do they want to learn about this year? What speakers do they want to hear? What suggestions can they offer to make your chapter stronger? What ideas do they have for getting the most value from their membership?
