About the Speaker
Merryl Brown
President & Creative Director, Merryl Brown Events (California)
Merryl Brown has been producing and designing events for 25 years. Based in both Santa Barbara, CA and NYC with a presence in Los Angeles, Merryl and her award-winning team of seasoned Project Managers work with a longstanding team of vendor partners to create spectacular experiences and events that are unparalleled in their creativity, originality and attention to detail. Merryl Brown Events produces corporate, social and non-profit events world-wide. They are also design partners for several DMCs throughout the country, who bring MBE in when they need something spectacular.
Merryl was formerly an International Banker in New York, working at both American Express Bank and Bankers Trust Company. Fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish, Merryl spent the majority of her banking career working with high net worth clients throughout Brazil. She holds an MA from Columbia University in International Affairs and a BA in Latin American Studies from Tulane University in New Orleans. Merryl is the mother of two amazing college age young men and two very annoying but cute dogs! When she is not working, she travels extensively, reads voraciously, practices TM and Pilates and mentors several young people in the events industry. Merryl is a Master Gardener, a lifelong philanthropist, a Trustee of The William E. Weiss Foundation, a former board member of The Santa Barbara Museum of Art and a Lifetime Honorary Trustee of Ganna Walska Lotusland Gardens.
