We encourage all ILEA Napa-Sonoma members to get involved in one volunteer position each year. You do not need prior experience to apply. If you have questions about where you would be the best fit, or where you would learn the most, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Serving on ILEA committees, working groups, and the Board of Directors is a rewarding and enjoyable experience. If you’ve been thinking of a way to get involved that will best use your time and talents, consider becoming an ILEA Napa-Sonoma volunteer!

Our board is currently taking applications! Being a board member is a great way to get to know everyone! Membership, Communications, and Programs are all areas where you can serve the chapter and make many new connections and learn new skills. All ILEA members, except for student members, are eligible to hold an ILEA office if their membership dues are current.

Applications for Board positions are due on Monday, February 28, 2022 for ILEA Napa-Sooma Chapter
All nominees will be contacted and sent a Nomination Acceptance Form by March 15. Acceptance Forms are due by March 22.
When Does New Chapter Leadership Take Office?
Transition and Meetings with ILEA HQ
Typically we try to begin the transition in May/June so that incumbent leaders may mentor new leaders and the incoming and incumbent Board members start to get to acquainted.
Time Commitment for Officers and Directors
- All Officer positions serve one year terms. Directors serve two year terms.
- Regularly attending monthly Board meetings and two one-day annual planning retreats is expected.

Responsibility Summary
President
The President shall preside at all meetings, appoint all committees with the approval of the Board of Directors and shall be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee. Also serve as the liaison between the chapter and ILEA Headquarters via the Regional Vice President and serves as the official spokesperson for the Chapter.
President Elect
The President-elect shall, in the absence of the President, have all powers and perform all duties of the President. Assists President in his/her capacity of ex-officio member on each committee; takes on special projects as assigned by the President, i.e. fund raising, promotional events, etc. Also serves as Secretary and Treasurer.
VP, Programs
Oversees all educational activity, all program activity for the Chapter’s regular meeting and be responsible for all and any committee activity pertaining to education in the Chapter. This includes hospitality and site selection.
VP, Membership
Oversees all membership activity and be responsible for any and all committee activity pertaining to membership in the Chapter. He/she shall also be responsible for recording and maintaining the list of members and the addresses/emails of members and shall be responsible for promulgating changes and amendments.
VP, Communications
Oversees all communication activity for the Chapter. The Vice President of Communication. Distributes Board and Chapter meeting notices, newsletters, coordinates web site materials and updates; prepares promotional materials for programs and mailing to membership in a timely fashion; submits information regarding meetings for press releases, etc.
Director-At-Large
A Director must agree to fulfill any chapter and/or committee assignments as requested by the President; must attend the meetings of the Board, etc. Directors serve two year terms.

- Lead with the best interest of ILEA Napa-Sonoma members
